Enter the query parameter in the query parameter field on the View Parameters page. You can let Google Analytics remove the search query parameter by checking the "Remove query parameters from URL" box. I see no reason to check this box, so I usually don't. If you have enhanced search features that include a query parameter for the search category, enable "Site search categories" and include this query parameter in the settings. Use of Google Analytics Site Research Reports With site search data active in Google Analytics, navigate to the report under “Behaviour > Site Search” in the left navigation. Photo Retouching Service In the data above, 4.64% of visits used site search. It's a bit low. I typically see a 5-15% range for niche e-commerce sites. Looking at additional metrics can show how your site is performing. If the "search exit %" is high (more than 50%), the search is probably not driving visitors down the path to purchase. The usage report (Behaviour > Site Search > Usage) can also be used to determine if site search is generating sales.
In the example data below, I clicked on the 'Ecommerce' tab - data is available if e-commerce reporting is enabled for the account - to report the data in the 'Usage' report ( Behavior > Site Search > Usage). “Visits with site search” had a conversion rate of 6.93%, compared to 3.67% for “visits without site search”. This indicates that site research helps convert visitors.
